SERVICES

Today, our agency provides primary health care, mental health counseling, substance abuse counseling, non-toxic supportive recovery housing, a Harm Reduction Program, comprehensive supportive HIV housing, meals, essential medical transportation, education (GED and computer) and comprehensive supportive services to individuals who have fallen victim to homelessness.

Through counseling, vocational education, and treatment, our vision evolved into a program that provides our clients with the opportunity to maintain their dignity and achieve self-sufficiency.
Urban Renewal Corp. receives referrals from agencies throughout Essex County. Area hospitals, detox centers, church organizations, Superior Court of New Jersey, Essex Vicinage, Probation Division and Drug Court Division are a few of the referral sources we work very closely with.

SERVICES OFFERED

1. Emergency and temporary housing facilities serving over 600 clients daily and over 8,500 annually.
2. Educational Studies: remediation and GED training, adult basic training, computer literacy, computer technology, job skills training and placement services.
3. Social Services: second chance program, life skills training, drug and alcohol support groups, women’s workshop, general nutrition classes, one-on-one counseling, and a client development program.
4. On-site medical, diagnostic, psychological, and drug & alcohol screening.
5. Host to a variety of community based functions to benefit all local residents.

Economically disadvantaged citizens of the Tri-State Area.
